![]() ![]() Unlike the other games where you had time to break work out a puzzle or mess around with your items, etc. This means you are required to run alot, and base your strategy on spur of the moment thought processing sometimes. The game focuses intently on a game of cat and mouse between you and the ever approaching and relentless Nemesis B.O.W. Secondly and more importantly yes the game had at least a similar engine, although the gameplay mechanics were a lot different from any of the other installments in the series, in a good way. (In other words, I figured it was a hastily put together sequal to 2 that I figured would be short and/or not well made or overall disappointing.)įirst of all I believe the two games were developed side by side, which proved why there was only a year between the games' releases. I originally skipped playing it in the late 90's because it came out too soon after Resident Evil 2 and figured it was nothing more than the same game engine with some new areas. I was skeptical for years about this game. First time playing through the game, I will say it was a total blast though. I purchased it new from at a low price and it was everything I expected it to be and more.Īwesome how it was ported to the gamecube! I know of no new features or anything. And the replay is boosted by which decisions you choose, because you can always go back and try something else!įinal Recommendation - if you're a fan of the RE series i recommend this game. But either way, this game should take you at least a few weeks to complete overall. If this isn't your first RE, it will not take quite as long. If it is your first, it will take you longer to complete, because you will be unfamiliar with the style and puzzles. Play Time/Replayability - (8/10) This, again, depends on whether this is your first Resident Evil or not. It will make you laugh in certain areas of the game, especially when talking with Carlos. Voice Acting- (7/10) The voice dialogue can be a bit cheesy at times. You also will be able to pick up gun powders and combine them to make more powerful ammunition. Sound- (9/10) The gunfire in this game sounds realistic as to what the gun should sound like, however the rocket launcher is a bit muted. And IMO, it looks far better than the playstation. ![]() It is a step up from the playstation one version. Graphics- (8/10) The graphics are very good being that this is a playstation port. If you chose to fight be prepared because He is this huge zombie-gone-wrong mutation that you will run into SEVERAL times. The first time will be fight Nemesis or enter police station. If you chose to fight the screen will flash to look like a photo negative and two options will appear at the bottom of the screen. members saving Raccoon City from the zombies, but there is one MAJOR difference. Story- (8/10) This Resident Evil has a bit more story than some of the others in the series, but it's still the S.T.A.R.S. That can also be easily overlooked as this is a ported Gen one title. Some zombies bodies will be hanging from closed doors and into the walls when they die. There is some collision detection in areas of the game, such as when Jill opens up cabinets to retrieve items the door passes through the gun barrel. The camera can be a wonkie at times, but its easily overlooked. It was a great game on Playstation, and still is on Gamecube. Introduction- This games is a direct port from Playstaion, and frankly, it carried over VERY well. ![]()
