![]() The difference with the outside windows is you may have to use more pressure to scrub away the bugs and dirt that are stuck to the glass.Īlways clean your windows in the shade or in cooler temperatures so your cleaner doesn’t dry before you can wipe it off. To prevent streaks, wipe first in an up-and-down motion, then a side-to-side motion, just like the inside windows. Wipe in a vertical, then horizontal pattern. Make sure to use a separate microfiber cloth than the one for the inside of your windows. Microfiber cloths will remove bugs and dirt from the outside of your windows and leave a clean, streak-free finish. If you are cleaning the front or back windshield, do it in sections so the glass cleaner doesn’t dry before you get to it. Unlike the interior, spraying the window directly will help dissolve stuck-on bugs and dirt to make your wiping job easy. ![]() Whether you wash your car by hand or take it through a car wash, it will make your job of cleaning windows easier. Next, grab a clean, dry microfiber cloth. This way, you will remove as much of the bugs and dirt as possible before getting your cleaning cloth very dirty. STEP 3: Buff the windows with a dry microfiber cloth. Wash your car before cleaning the windows. This method leaves fewer streaks than wiping in circles. The best way to get your glass cleaner than ever is to wipe the glass in an up-and-down motion, then in a side-to-side motion. It is better than newspaper which leaves ink residue all over your hands and car interior, and better than paper towels that shred easily, meaning you use more of them. Microfiber is soft to the touch but has excellent properties to scrub away any dirt while absorbing the glass cleaner. Instead, spray your glass cleaner onto your cloth and wipe the window. Not only does it waste glass cleaner, but the chemicals in many glass cleaners can damage or stain plastic parts inside your car. A portion always settles onto the car’s interior components, making more work to clean up. If you spray your glass cleaner directly onto the glass, only roughly half of it actually hits the window. If you use the right products and the right technique, you’ll be left with crystal clear windows. ![]() It decreases driver fatigue and improves visibility, meaning safer driving.Ĭleaning your car windows sounds like an easy job but often you’re left with a messy, streaky finish that is more distracting and harder to see through than before. ![]() Having a clean windshield and windows is much more than just the appearance of a clean, well-kept car. ![]()

The National Transportation and Safety Board suggested that the old estimated mean of 140 lb be updated to 174 lb, so the safe load of 3500 lb would now allow only 20 passengers instead of 25. Assuming a mean passenger weight of 140 lb, the boat was allowed to carry 25 passengers, but the mean of 140 lb was determined 44 years ago when people were not as heavy as they are today. An investigation revealed that the safe passenger load for the water taxi was 3500 lb. Among the 25 people on board, 5 died and 16 were injured. A water taxi sank in Baltimore s Inner Harbor. A subsequent investigation showed that most of the passengers weighed more than 200 lb, and the boat should have been certified for a much smaller number of passengers. Based on an assumed mean weight of 140 lb, the boat was certified to carry 50 people. Twenty passengers were killed when the Ethan Allen tour boat capsized on New York s Lake George. This prompted the Federal Aviation Administration to order airlines to collect weight information from randomly selected flights, so that the old assumptions about passenger weights could be updated. In the subsequent investigation, the weight of the passengers was suspected as a factor that contributed to the crash. Simply reheat them in the time while you’re letting your main dish rest, then drizzle the roasted parsnips and carrots with the glaze and serve. Speaking of last-minute prep time, these roasted root vegetables don’t need much of it-you can roast the vegetables on two sheet pans up to two hours in advance. Essentially, it’s the perfect last-minute oh-no-we-need-another side dish. You can jazz up the glaze if you like (a little chopped fresh rosemary, anyone?), but the recipe only calls for six ingredients, most of which you probably already have. Kids dig it, but it’s sophisticated enough for a holiday dinner too. This roasted carrot and parsnip recipe is particularly simple, and the sweet-tart combo of balsamic vinegar and honey (plus butter, of course) make it a real crowd-pleaser. You find the two root vegetables cooked together over and over and over, and there’s a good reason- carrots and parsnips are both part of the parsley family, and the earthiness of the caramelized parsnips makes the carrots’ sweetness sing. Tilt it and baste all the parsnips with hot fat, place the tin in the oven and bake them for 20 minutes, then turn them over, drain off any surplus fat (a bulb baster is good for this) and continue to bake for a further 15-20 minutes or until they are crisp and golden.Peanut butter and jelly, ketchup and mustard.parsnips and carrots? Meanwhile have a large kitchen tray ready. Put on a lid, bring them to the boil and boil for 3 minutes. Now pop the parsnips in a saucepan, pour in enough boiling water just to cover them and add salt. Then halve and quarter them lengthways and cut each length in half across, so that you end up with smallish chunks. Begin by combining the flour, Parmesan, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. ![]() |
